Pensions Technical/ Governance Consultant/ Specialist, In-house Scheme

Our client is keeping an open mind on who might fill this role, which means two types of pension professionals can apply:
1. You are an experienced pensions technical and governance specialist.
2. You are an experienced pensions administrator who wants to branch out and change direction into this area.
You will be joining a large in-house pension department with circa twenty pension employees in various roles but the majority are pensions administrators. Your role will be to offer technical and governance support.

Your important role will be to provide pension technical support to the Company, Head of Pensions, the Pensions Technical Team Manager, Scheme Secretary and to the Administration and Technical teams. You will report to the Pensions Technical Team Leader and direct all governance policy decisions to the Pensions Technical Team Leader.

You will offer governance support, help and advice on current and future projects. You will also help with preparation for trustee meetings, and where required provide secretarial services for the Trustee of the Pension Scheme (including its sub committees). which will also mean you have good interpersonal skills, also needed for help, advice and guidance you will give the administration team. You will answer technical queries from administration, you may even need to assist with any complaints handling as part of the role.

You will be able to interpret new legislation, (as we all know changes happen regularly in pensions), what do these mean? what processes need to change? and help the administration team put new processes in place. Good Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office skills will help you in this role for data analysis and presentation and training writing/giving and pension communications. In return if you are not already studying or PMI qualified you will be sponsored to study, and your membership paid upon achieving also.
