Pension Admin, Operations, Secretary to the Trustees (mixed duties) Manager, 12-Month Contract; 3 days on site, 2 days at home

Are you a multi-skilled pension's professional, at manager level? Able to help with Member Communications exercises and Data Management exercises, and provide Administration Services and support the Board of Trustees in topics related to your role and projects? We appreciate a wide remit, but hopefully you may read this and feel confident you are, or if light on one area have the capability to undertake the others with confidence and gain any missing knowledge to complete other elements of the contract.

You will be embarking on a 12-month contract working for a medium to large-sized in-house pension department (DB and DC schemes), with at least 3 days on site per week, 2 at home, helping them with various projects in the coming year. There will be a member communications exercise, where having done this before you will be aware of challenges and how to plan and undertake this. There will also be a data management exercise, including GMP projects, and it is hoped you will have undertaken data management work previously, or you will struggle with this part of the role. Finally you will also support the Trustee Board for a large Defined Benefit Scheme and work effectively with the Secretary to Trustees of the respective pension schemes, from input to agendas to producing papers as required for the board and sub-committee meetings.

Your pension's knowledge will be strong technically to understand benefit calculations, for specifying and testing calculations and process design with the relevant parties and for helping with member communications such as annual benefit statements and pension increases. Your innovative approach will help solve any problems along the way and good communications ensure delivery. You will be aware of DB risk management via similar projects or roles in your career. You most certainly will have worked on projects and as such understand budgets for these, and work with the relevant parties (Pension Finance Manager and Director of Pensions Services) to create a business plan and budget for UK pensions during your contract and to undertake your remit. In doing this role you will provide constructive guidance on process improvement, help understand any member services backlogs and propose how to clear them, and ensure ongoing SLA's in-house are met to deliver member services 'right first time', 'on time'.

There are a variety of other interesting areas of in-house pension administration provision you will be able to get involved in, so if what you have read sounds exciting and challenging and you would like to know more, please do get in touch ASAP… Exciting, diverse, long-term, competitively remunerated in-house contracts such as this, with some home working, do not arise very often.
