As the Manager for up to forty pensions specialists your newly created role has a strong focus on Operational Strategic Process Improvement, from reviewing processes and improving these, to looking at the bigger strategic picture long-term, to general operational assistance across the board for your super set of Team Leaders, all managing multiple administrators and all under your guidance as the Pensions Benefits (Team name) Team Manager. Your actual official job title would be Pensions Benefits Team Manager, but the aforementioned areas better clarify your core focus and deliverables. You will set the work agenda for overseeing the effective delivery of all target areas for driving efficiency, managing caseloads and ensuring your team complete their tasks to deadline to achieve member/client SLA's. Please do note this is not a private consultancy which you could be forgiven for thinking by the aforementioned, it is an authority responsible for set clients – all lovely to deal with! It will feel like you are the in-house provider to your employees, there are just multiple sites, offering different services. Funding is healthy with freedom to move forward with ideas and really make a difference to service provision past, current and future….

You will have an occupational pensions background, and experience of administering a defined benefit pension scheme and its statutory requirements.

You will have a very successful track record for ensuring deadlines are always achieved and internal targets met, whilst striving to constantly improve processes and service provision. You will enjoy managing people, and cannot wait to join this company and help this large department be better than ever.
