Are you an experienced Pension Professional seeking a standalone role, with sole responsibility for the company in-house pension schemes (external DB and DC administrators/providers), Head Office payroll and flexible benefits? If yes, this flexible working role could be your ideal career move!
This is a corporate role, directly accountable to the Group Legal Director & Company Secretary, for the management and administration of the Group’s UK pension and benefit arrangements. You will be working within a small legal and company secretarial team, at the Head Office of a UK listed company with c.500 employees at this site. Given the size, type and status of schemes this part-time role can be undertaken on a 3-4-5 day working week basis, with flexibility around hours worked.
You will act as Secretary to the Trustees of the DB Scheme and the Investment Sub-Committee, preparing agenda papers and minutes of meetings, and co-ordinating all follow-up actions. Your knowledge of current legislation must be up to date, and you must be technically pension competent, you will be required to keep the Trustees updated on significant developments regarding the scheme and the regulatory environment, and arranging training as required. You will be responsible for all monthly and annual pensions' actions, for example annual audit and preparation of scheme accounts.
You will need recent or current experience of running Defined Benefit/Defined Contribution pension schemes, and ideally also payroll (company bank account actions) and flexible benefits. You will be someone able to work independently, with minimal oversight, in a small team, with excellent inter-personal skills at all levels and sensitivity in dealing with people, as in-house pension provision so often requires. These attributes will also help you in assisting to prepare member communications and presentations, and helping with various ad hoc projects.
