If you have 1-2 years of occupational pensions experience under your belt, you already know your experience is like 'gold dust!' as good pension administrators continue to be in high demand and short supply. So what is special about this client to entice you to move and join them? Continuity of Staff! Longevity of service! Career development! Study Assistance! A vested interest in you, not what you can do for them! A shared mutual passion for pensions and investment in the careers of the pension's professionals within this medium-sized team, the list of positives and great reasons is endless. If you know you don’t just want a job in pensions but a career, and not to just earn a high income over the next few years but to gain priceless knowledge and experience as a grounding to moving on and upwards to better things, then our client is for you!
Our client is seeking someone with demonstrable experience of working on final salary occupational pension schemes, who genuinely actively seeks out ways to widen own experience, skills or knowledge. You will be required to actively contribute to the effective overall management of the Group’s pension arrangements, dealing with administration of member casework, and all types of member related correspondence, including telephone and email enquiries. You will also continually update and maintain member records on the pension administration system and other databases. You will be able to undertake manual and system based calculations in order to process early leavers, transfer values, retirement and death cases for pension scheme members within agreed target dates. You will assist with the processing of the monthly, quarterly and annual pensioner payrolls, annual scheme processes including, but not limited to, the annual pension increase exercise and the production of annual benefit statements, liaising as and when required with financial advisers, internal HR, payroll departments and external agencies.
Joining this super team environment you will get to also help with exciting projects such as providing assistance as and when required for Trustee and/or Company related projects, but must also be able to role your sleeves up and do more mundane work such as providing office support to the Department as and when required, including scanning and logging of daily post. Your goal will be providing assistance as and when required to ensure that all Departmental objectives and goals are met.
At Abenefit2u we have chatted to pension administrators who are now finding that without gaining anything more than pension administration experience, in the short-term their salary is high, in the long-term they are not learning more to progress up to Team Leader or move into Assistant Consultant roles to advance their career, so if you have been contracting for some time or are in the same role and cannot see it changing, it is worth considering your long-term not just short-term future in pensions…
