Do you have direct experience of managing a team delivering pensions administration for a defined benefit pension scheme? Our client is looking to appoint a Pensions Operations Manager.
You will be a strong manager with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. You will lead by example and provide leadership and support to all colleagues at a higher level than team leaders. You will be equipped with a significant knowledge of this type of Pensions Scheme or a similar defined benefit scheme, but it is not intended that this role should be a technical role, as the focus is on cost effective service delivery and standards together with making any relevant process changes and improvements where necessary.
Our client brings together two highly skilled professional workforces to share expertise and resources in the delivery of services including: Human Resources and Organisation Development, Property, Finance, Information Technology, Business Operations and Procurement. They employ over 1,400 people and support the wider workforce. The Pension Services team provide administration services for six areas and they may wish to expand this number and attract new customers and partners in order to improve customer service, drive efficiencies and reduce costs.
As the Pensions Operations Manager (South), you will manage a large team of over twenty staff and be responsible for delivering pensions administration services across varies parts of the group. You will lead and manage all aspects of the day-to-day service and will support the team leaders and team members as necessary to fulfil service delivery requirements. The main focus of your role will be to set the operational direction of the team, understand service requirements, strategically plan relevant workloads and apply resources appropriately. Alongside this, you will be involved in identifying process and software improvements and keeping all stakeholders informed through clear communication and reporting. There will also be direct interaction with the Technical Manager and Pensions Operations Manager (North) and Pensions Governance Manager and suppliers as appropriate. The direct reporting line is to the Lead Pensions Manager.
