Resigning can be one of the most daunting parts of the recruitment process, no matter how excited you are about your new job or how much you dislike your current employer. You may work in a small team and have developed loyal friendships or just have worked with a company for many years and find the change quite overwhelming, either way it is likely you will feel nervous about taking the next step.
Often employees feel guilty about resigning. Try and remember the reasons why you have chosen to leave and that you are taking this step because you are putting your own future happiness and career first, which is not something you should feel guilty about.
No matter how you feel, the key point to remember is that you do not want to leave on a bad note. You will want to be able to use your employer as a reference and when you work in a small industry, such as the occupational pensions market, it is very likely that you will meet your line manager/colleagues again in the future.
Abenefit2u have provided some advice on different stages of the resignation process to put your mind at rest and give you an idea of what to expect.
If you have any questions or would just like to have an informal chat about resigning and your concerns, please do not hesitate to contact one of our consultants.
