There are a multitude of types of interviews, assessments and tests that employers can use to ascertain an employee’s suitability for a role. Wherever possible, if Abenefit2u can conduct additional pre-screening tests for you, we are only too happy to do so. Our aim is to assist and save you time at every part of the recruitment process.

Competency Based Interviews
The campaign was to recruit a full quota of staff for an employer that had chosen to in-source its pension scheme, including the recruitment of a Pensions Manager at a strategic level. The role was multi-faceted and required multiple skill sets in a variety of areas. Using the company’s very detailed job description and person specification a set of ten competency questions were designed, each with the ability to discover if the individual had the core competencies required in that category. Interviews took up to two hours. On this particular campaign it was necessary to video each candidate and review recordings to ensure that each candidate was assessed fairly against another.
Technical Tests
The campaign was to recruit a large number of pension administration staff at the same time. The client devised a set of 20 questions all relating to pension provision, ranging from pension formulae to pension legislation. Provided with the correct answers, tests were conducted by a consultant who then marked and graded each candidate, presenting a shortlist of suitable applicants who achieved ‘pass mark or higher’ grades to the employer. Each candidate would also have passed the standard pre-screening interviews undertaken by the consultant.
Assessments
The campaign was to recruit teams of employees with no prior pension experience, who would be able to work in one of a number of available roles e.g. administration, call centre. All day assessments were designed by the employer, from call centre to in-tray exercises. Assistance with these was given.
