After you resign the period between resigning from your old job and starting your new one can be both an enjoyable and a stressful experience.  Almost everyone views change with both excitement and trepidation.  You know where you are going and what you will be doing, but you are also moving into a totally fresh work environment with new people and new ways of working.

Abenefit2u retains regular contact with both parties during the notice and probation period to ensure that the transition into new employment is as stress free as possible for the employee and that the transition is smooth and problem free for the employer.  If you only have a noticed period of one month, time is likely to ‘fly by’.  If you have a notice period of 3 or 6 months, it will feel like a long duration between the final interview and day of offer to the start date and commencement of new employment.

If there is anything you need us to help you with during your notice period please do not hesitate to contact us.  For example you may have to organise a new season ticket loan or parking space and need the correct contact name or number in Human Resources at your new employer.

If there is any information that you would like to know about your new employer before you commence employment please do not hesitate to ask Abenefit2u to obtain this for you (subject to employer approval).  We often get requests from Pensions Managers for a variety of information about the Pension Scheme, which they can then read before they commence employment, helping them to prepare for the new role that they are about to embark on.

As your start date draws nearer your focus should be on concluding any projects or responsibilities that you still have outstanding so that you leave your position organised for the next incumbent, along with any training notes that they may require; this will leave a lasting positive impression of your time with the employer and will be greatly appreciated.  Whilst things are winding down in your old job, this is the time to start preparing for your new employment...
