Interview Guidance
For clients

The prospective new employees that you are about to interview will have been sourced by one of the following methods, Contingency, Advertising, Executive Search

We doubt that you will need our guidance when it comes to interviewing candidates who have been sourced from either a Database Search or an Advertisement, but if you do, please do not hesitate to ask.  However, we sometimes find that an employer may need guidance when presented with a set of headhunted candidates.

These individuals were not looking for a new career move.  However, by approaching them in the correct manner with an enticing position, they were receptive to moving employers, submitting an application and are now willing to attend an interview to hear about your role and discuss their own background.

An interview is always a two-way process but with headhunted candidates you must also be prepared, not only to discuss, but to ‘sell’ the role and your organisation to them.  You will need to convince a successful individual, with a proven track record and stability within their own company, to join your organisation.  Until convinced otherwise they are likely to see this as a risk.  They will have no other motivation to move other than all the exciting new things that you tell them about your role, how you see them fitting into your organisation and their improved career with you.

If required, we can offer special guidance on how to interview headhunted candidates.
