First Day

First day,
First week

Abenefit2u would like to wish you
all the very best of luck in your new job.

If you secured your new employment through Abenefit2u when you arrive at work there is one thing that you can be sure of; a little welcome surprise from Abenefit2u waiting on your desk.  You may like to share your ‘Good Luck in your new job’ present with your new colleagues as a way of introducing yourself.

Dependant on the type and size of organisation, your new employer could have a formal induction and training schedule designed for you or an ‘on the job’ training approach.  What is certain is that you will be meeting new people, learning new procedures, possibly adjusting to different information technology systems and sitting in a totally new work environment. You may take to your new position like a ‘duck to water’ or it may take a few weeks to adjust.

Have an ‘open mind’ to everything, and ‘flexible attitude’ in all you do. If there is anything you are unsure about and feel uncomfortable asking your employer directly, don’t be afraid to let us know and we can find out for you.

Probation
period

For some people going to work is about doing a job you enjoy and completing this to the best of your abilities. For others it is about developing a long term career, continually challenging yourself and pushing your boundaries. Whatever your motivations and aspirations you should take pride in everything you do, and always work to the best of your individual abilities.

During your first few months of employment you will be within your probation period with your new employer.  Your employer will be carefully monitoring your work input and progress, this is not only your chance to prove to your new employer that they made the right decision in selecting you, but an opportunity to ‘stand out’ and ‘get noticed’.
